Beaches of Abaco Islands

Just about everywhere in the Bahamas there are beautiful beaches to enjoy in various ways.

Here are a few of the best, near Hope Town.

Hope Town Beach

Just steps from Honeymoon Villa, the beach at Hope Town is open ocean and a wonderful specimen. Some days the waves can be large enough to try them with a small surfboard. Other days the water will be quiet and conducive to an afternoon beach nap. Take out your snorkeling gear and have a look around some of the small reefs and rocks – there are even fish here!

Man O War Beach

Much like the Hope Town Beach, but a bit more wild, this one is a great trip for waves and excitement after strolling through Man O War.

Great Guana Cay Beaches

Take a trip up to Great Guana Cay and pick a beach to spend the afternoon exploring. They are all different and intriguing!

Tahiti Beach

A few minutes by boat from Hopetown, Tahiti Beach is a unique sand bar that transforms with the tide. A great spot for kids, sand dollars, and strolling.

Mermaid Beach

After snorkeling at Mermaid Reef you can swim over to the small beach there and soak up some sun.

Little Harbour Beach

After a bite at Pete’s Pub let the kids run out into the harbour for a quick dip. Protected and quiet, it’s a nice spot for a relaxing swim.

A little further from Hopetown…

Cherokee Sound

Further from Hopetown, you will need to rent a car in Marsh Harbour. Make this a day or afternoon trip to the longest dock in the Bahamas. Worth a trip!

Treasure Cay Beach

Another beach that will be a drive from Marsh Harbour. Beautiful spot with a restaurant for lunch.
